Yesterday we completed our first trip to the pool.  The objectives for this trip were:

  1. Observe the effect of the tether on the motion of the ROV
  2. Identify any potential problems wit the navigation of the ROV
  3. Practice performing the required tasks
  4. Identify potential areas to improve/redesign prior to final testing
Unfortunately, I was too busy running from group to group that I didn't get video or pictures from the day.  However, I discovered that the college of Engineering at the University of Michigan runs a section where students create ROVs.  The similarities are astounding!  Take a look and compare these designs to the final vehicles designed by the students last year.
